This FREE virtual workshop series seeks to cultivate diverse storyboarding talent and provide participants with the keys to a successful career in childrens’ Television. You’ll learn foundational principles and techniques you can only get from acclaimed industry veterans and will forge relationships with potential mentors.

Workshop Goals
By the end of the program, the participants should have an understanding of how to bring a scene from script to storyboard and a 30 second storyboard of a musical or action scene for an animated children’s show.

Program Specifics
The Big Bad Boo BIPOC Storyboard Workshop is open to early to mid-level board artists interested in a career in kids’ animation who identify as Black, Indigenous or People of Colour and/or part of the LGBTQ+ community. Ideal candidates are design school graduates with 2-3 years of relevant experience. This intensive workshop will begin with an introduction to the Children’s Television industry by Big Bad Boo Co-Founder Shabnam Rezaei, followed by 3 half day-long sessions from 9:30am-1:00pm PST. Led by Big Bad Boo’s own senior board artist Gary Scott, the program is designed to provide participants with a crash course on the craft of storyboard development. We cover the basics from interpreting a director’s vision, to design, composition and dynamism.
